Bob Robinson (RR)Jurgen Habermas
he does seem to be concerned in fostering spirit
and questioning the validity of objective science, advanced
capitalism, and the current forms of western democracy.
António Pedro Dores (APD)
Pierre Bourdieu
My
main theorical reference is Pierre Bourdieu. His work, I think,
is very critized in the States. In Lisbon he is the big
reference. Habermas is respected as a political idealistic
philosopher. Habermas is a main reference to communication
studies and for leftwing social scientists that prefer
qualitative methodological approaches and deny quantitative
approaches.
"I do wonder what you
mean by the phrase "How people (individuals and popular masses)
decide themselves to move on." You ask me.
I mean to put P. Bourdieu up
side down. He call for "dispositions" meaning automatic ways to
organize behaviours and feelings people acquire by first and
second socialization processes. My call is to understand for
"dispositions" the actual mobilization of a specific state of
spirit (let´s say prohibitionist) that organise in a social
manner dominant behaviours and feelings - the securitarian wave
we live in. Decision making, to people who agree and to people
who do not agree to securitarian developments, all refers to the
over all social dispositions and adapt to it. It means that we
choose freely to move on in one of the different directions we
are socialized with in youth ages according to the way we want
to use the social big wave. Some times we want to resist. Other
times we want to enjoy. Other times we want to participate and
join forces with people in charge.
Whatever.
